It’s Been a Minute—Let’s Reconnect

Reader,

It’s been a few weeks since I last landed in your inbox, and I want to take a moment to reconnect. Life has been full (and I imagine yours has too). Whether you’ve been navigating the heaviness of the world, showing up for your community, or just trying to get through the day, I see you.

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m so glad you found your way to this newsletter (and a big thank-you to those who sent you this way!)

A few things I’ve been up to lately:

💫 I prepared and delivered a keynote at Michigan State University’s Big10 Collegiate Mental Health Conference, titled “Multiple Ways of Knowing, Doing, and Being in Collegiate Mental Health: A collective call for social justice through integrated, holistic, and multiculturally responsive care” …how cool is that??? It gave me hope to see spaces actively exploring alternatives to purely individualistic, Western-centric models of healing.

🙄 Meta sent me a fake warning that they’re shutting down my Decolonize Your Practice facebook page [eyeroll… if they ever follow through, I’ll make sure we still stay connected elsewhere].

🔥 I’m finalizing a course on identities and intersectionality as a key component of decolonizing your practice. It’s grounded in this crowdsourced wheel. You can get on the waitlist by clicking this link.

☀️ I will be offering the last round (ever) of the program Decolonize Your Practice later this year. This will be a condensed version and you can get on the waitlist by clicking this link.

How have you been navigating all the heaviness? What’s been on your mind lately? Hit reply and let me know.

Glad to be back in your inbox. Talk soon. 🌻

Here’s to finding respite within the chaos,

In community & solidarity,

Silvana @ Decolonize Your Practice

Liberatory Letters

I help therapists, healers, and space-holders bring decolonial and liberatory values into their work—so you’re not just saying you’re aligned… you’re actually practicing it. ⬆️ More integrity, more connection, more liberation. ⬇️ Less burnout, less performative wokeness, less colonial residue. If you want a practice where marginalized clients feel safe, seen, and honored—and you want to feel more grounded and intentional in your work—subscribe and join a growing community of practitioners doing this work differently. You practice can be liberatory-- let's get you there!

Reader, We talk a lot about “success” at the end of the year — how much we achieved, how much we accomplished, how many milestones we hit. But if we’re honest, most of us inherited a definition of success that was never ours to begin with. Success, for many of us, was shaped by systems that taught our families that safety had to be earned. That rest was conditional. That slowing down was dangerous. That productivity was proactivity. There is nothing wrong with wanting more: more ease, more...
