Reader, It’s been a few weeks since I last landed in your inbox, and I want to take a moment to reconnect. Life has been full (and I imagine yours has too). Whether you’ve been navigating the heaviness of the world, showing up for your community, or just trying to get through the day, I see you. If you’re new here, welcome! I’m so glad you found your way to this newsletter (and a big thank-you to those who sent you this way!) A few things I’ve been up to lately: 💫 I prepared and delivered a keynote at Michigan State University’s Big10 Collegiate Mental Health Conference, titled “Multiple Ways of Knowing, Doing, and Being in Collegiate Mental Health: A collective call for social justice through integrated, holistic, and multiculturally responsive care” …how cool is that??? It gave me hope to see spaces actively exploring alternatives to purely individualistic, Western-centric models of healing. 🙄 Meta sent me a fake warning that they’re shutting down my Decolonize Your Practice facebook page [eyeroll… if they ever follow through, I’ll make sure we still stay connected elsewhere]. 🔥 I’m finalizing a course on identities and intersectionality as a key component of decolonizing your practice. It’s grounded in this crowdsourced wheel. You can get on the waitlist by clicking this link. ☀️ I will be offering the last round (ever) of the program Decolonize Your Practice later this year. This will be a condensed version and you can get on the waitlist by clicking this link. How have you been navigating all the heaviness? What’s been on your mind lately? Hit reply and let me know. Glad to be back in your inbox. Talk soon. 🌻 Here’s to finding respite within the chaos, In community & solidarity, Silvana @ Decolonize Your Practice PS. You can read previous Liberatory Letters here. PPS. That's me ⬇️ delivering my keynote speech

I help clinicians, healers, and coaches incorporate decolonized and liberatory values in their practices so that you can have a practice and/or service-based business that is truly affirming and welcoming to clients who hold marginalized identities.

Reader, Something else that keeps surfacing in conversations with fellow therapists and healers is the tension of being both witness and participant in a world on fire. We’re navigating burnout, grief, systemic violence—and then showing up to hold others through the same storms. ❌ This isn’t a sign that you’re not being an effective therapist. This isn't a personal shortcoming either... ✅ This is a reflection of living and working within a system that asks us to care endlessly -while most of...
Reader, A quick update on what I've been up to (you can skip this box to read the Liberatory Letter below): 🎙️ Last year (and last year was a completely different time) I recorded a podcast interview with Maegan Megginson from the Deeply Rested Podcast titled "Love, Joy, and Liberation: A Shame-Free Approach to Decolonization" (for service providers) and you can listen to it here. 🖥️ Next week on 4/24 I am presenting the first part of 3-part Workshop Series for The Therapist Connection titled...
