Sharing books I’m reading

You’re receiving this pre-scheduled message while I’m deep in rest-mode (yes, actual rest; yes, again).
So if something major is happening in the world right this minute, this email won’t reflect it — but I’m still holding you with care across whatever landscape you’re in.

Reader,

This year I'm sharing books a little differently.

Instead of forcing myself into the usual end-of-year productivity rituals, I’m honoring what my body and brain actually want:

  • 📕 I’m honoring my neurodivergence — which means sending you a picture instead of a long, perfectly curated list of books.
  • 📗 I’m sharing my reading intentions instead of a polished “must-read” thoroughly analyzed roundup.
  • 📘 I’m trusting recommendations from others — while also letting you know that I don’t necessarily endorse every author's entire body of work.
  • 📙 I’m letting my excitement lead, naming the books I hope to read during my hibernation period. I may not get to all of them — and that’s okay... or will I? ...I don't know, how exciting!

If you screenshot the pic above, your smart phone should give you the option of converting the titles to text.

📖 And now I’d love to hear from you.

What books are nourishing you right now? What’s shaping your thinking, your practice, your politics, your imagination?

Hit reply and send me your list — even if it’s just one title, even if you’re halfway through, even if it’s a book you want to read but haven’t started yet.

Your recommendations help me expand the worlds I read from. And I can’t wait to return from my break and read what moved you.

With warmth, slowness, and a stack of books,

Silvana

page of a book that reads "productivity"

March 2026 Reader, At the end of the Gregorian year, I took a full month off from therapy clients. And I actually took time off. I didn’t check my work email, I disconnected completely, and I left out-of-office messages everywhere they could possibly live. I intentionally didn’t plan a vacation. I stayed home to, I guess, hang out with myself. No specific plans. No productivity goals. No “use this time wisely” strategy. Just a stack of books that I promised myself I would peruse, not finish...
